Write a useful Minecraft server listing
A good listing answers the questions a player has before joining. Accuracy matters more than a long title or a large number of tags.
Checked against the MineRate dashboard ·Describe the actual experience, who can join and what a new player needs to install.
Before you start
- Verified ownership.
- Current connection instructions and community rules.
Step-by-step instructions
Keep the name readable
Use the project name rather than stuffing versions, promotional claims and every game mode into the title. Put the main selling point in the short description and use separate paragraphs in the full description.
Answer practical joining questions
Explain the main modes, gameplay rules, whitelist/application process, community language and wipe policy. For modded play, include the loader, modpack and required release. State donation or progression limits honestly.
Choose only relevant tags
Select modes and features that are available now. Avoid conflicting claims such as Vanilla and a required modpack, or No PvP and open combat without an explanation. More tags do not guarantee better placement.
Review edition and version compatibility
In Basic information, check the edition, Bedrock endpoint where applicable, accepted version range and automatic version updating. The reported server software version is not necessarily the full client compatibility range; document proxy and modpack requirements explicitly.
Add evidence and save
Upload real screenshots in Videos and screenshots, and add current HTTPS website/community links in Contacts and integrations. Review your public page after saving. A website verification badge requires the separate DNS check.
If something does not work
- Players arrive with the wrong client
- Check the edition-specific instructions and advertised range. Include the exact modpack release when required, rather than advertising compatibility you have not checked.
- A contact link is rejected
- Use a full HTTPS URL to the correct service. For X, use a profile URL, not a single post. Remove embedded credentials and broken invite links.
Common questions
Does a longer description guarantee more visitors?
No. The purpose is to explain your server clearly. Search visibility and player interest depend on more than length, and MineRate cannot promise traffic or search rankings.
Should I copy another directory’s generic description?
Prefer your own specific explanation, rules and screenshots. Keep it current and avoid claiming features that are only planned.
