Ask exactly which worlds and player data reset, when it happens and what carries over. Never infer an in-game reset from a monitoring rank or vote count.
Before you start
- Find the server’s own dated reset announcement.
- List what matters to you: builds, inventory, balance, claims and team progress.
- Check the announcement’s time zone and whether its schedule is confirmed.
Follow these steps
Identify the scope of the reset
Ask whether only a resource world resets or whether the main survival map, islands or competitive mode also restart. A new world does not by itself tell you what happens to inventories, balances or ranks.
Confirm what carries over
Look for an explicit list covering builds, claims, homes, shops, currency, quests and purchased perks. Different systems can have different reset policies. If a valuable item or perk is not mentioned, ask staff rather than assuming.
Read dates and times carefully
Distinguish the last day of a season, maintenance start and reopening time. Convert the stated time zone for your group. Plans can change; check the latest official update before arranging a long session.
Plan a project that fits the remaining season
If a reset is close, a short group challenge may be more satisfying than a huge permanent base. Ask whether screenshots, schematics or a world download are allowed and available. A listing cannot guarantee export or restoration.
Return using the new instructions
After reopening, check the supported version, address and rules again. Save any changed connection details. Keep your group’s expectations clear: a fresh economy or map may change the route you used last season.
Common mistakes to avoid
Interpreting “no wipe” as a permanent guarantee
Read the policy and its exceptions. Maintenance, technical failures or future changes can still affect a world.
Confusing catalog statistics with game progress
Monitoring ranks, votes and reported online counts belong to the listing. They do not tell you whether an in-game world or inventory has reset.
Common questions
Does every survival server wipe?
No. Policies differ by community and world. Some worlds persist, some reset regularly, and some announce resets only when needed.
Can MineRate tell me exactly what will be kept?
The server owner’s announcement and support team are the authority. A listing or news item can point you toward the information, but missing details are not guarantees.
Can I download my base before a reset?
Only if the server provides or permits an export method. Ask before using a client tool, and do not assume that a world download will be offered.
