FREELOADER is a new, not-for-profit Minecraft Factions server built around the idea that Factions shouldn't need 47 custom systems, a battle pass, and a fucking loot box economy to be fun. We're taking the old-school Factions experience and putting it on modern Minecraft infrastructure. Make a faction. Get rich. Make friends. Make enemies. Raid somebody. Get raided. Repeat. Your faction is the progression system. We're not trying to turn Minecraft into an MMO. Minecraft already has a perfectly good sandbox. We just want to give players the tools to fuck around with each other. WHY FREELOADER? We're specifically trying to recreate the feeling of early 2010s Factions, while still taking advantage of modern Minecraft. That means modern world generation, modern performance, Java/Bedrock crossplay, proximity voice chat, and cross-version support... ...but old-school Factions philosophy. If Minecraft already does something well, we probably don't need to add another system on top of it. AND YES, IT'S ACTUALLY FREE FREELOADER is maintained by the Cerulean Team and is not-for-profit. There are no donor ranks that give you advantages. There isn't a $29.99 "ULTIMATE FACTION LORD" package. You're just here to play Minecraft. You're a freeloader. That's kind of the joke. JAVA + BEDROCK You don't need to care what edition your friends use. Java and Bedrock players can play together, with proximity voice chat available on both. We also support multiple Java client versions through ViaVersion and ViaBackwards, because nobody should have to update Minecraft just to play with their friends. So yes, you can actually hear someone screaming from inside their base while your faction is removing the front door with TNT.
